Une fois encore, je vous donne la version anglaise du commentaire, pour rester dans le contexte outre-atlantique.

    

British Colonel G. M. Giles was a lucky man. He received in 1936 the most exclusive Bugatti chassis, the Type 57SC, with a body designed by both his brother Eric Giles and had Jean Bugatti. Corsica (un petit carrossier) of London executed the design on chassis 57593 an the car was driven around England with the registration GU7.

The most striking part the car is the body design which is completely unique to this car. It incorporates pontoon fenders and a cigar body which comes to a unique focal point at the rear. Grey accents run the length of the body and complement the shape of the radiator as well as the sweeping tail.

The rear portion of the body opens completely to reveal a tool kit and spare tire, but there is little room for anything else. By the late forties, the trunklid was altered so that the spare tire could be fitted into it to offer more space but this drastically reduced the car's appeal. Thankfully this addition was reverted during the car's most recent restoration.

 Pour exceller à Pebble beach, il faut du sensationnel. Alors on "restaure" ! Difficile de changer l’extérieur, (sauf la couleur), c’est comme un monument historique : on fera donc tout pour magnifier l’intérieur : on choisit un cuir d’alligator,  tellement excitant assorti aux bottes texanes ! Et on en met partout, même sur la planche du tableau de bord. Il faut dire que le propriétaire a un nom célèbre : Mozart, John Mozart ! Il l’a eu son Grand prix du Beach Concours, en 2000 ! La voiture est à l'état neuf à l’extérieur, défigurée à l’intérieur, encore que c'est tellement kitch que l'oeil est forcément attiré ! On admire et la prouesse du sellier, et le prix (fort) auquel Mozart a du faire face !

Peut-on trouver le modèle au 1/8° ? Oui ! Il faut s’adresser au Canada, et on aura une jolie voiture, malheureusement en résine….pouahh !!! Les concepteurs n’ont pas osé reprendre le revêtement intérieur, et on simplement posé un simili-cuir bordeaux dans la version bleue. Si l’on se contente de regarder, sans avoir investi les quelque 5000 Euros demandés, (ouf !) les formes sont assez sympa :
